Meet Marianne

school photo…yes, I put one on my mom’s fridge still

I am a high school teacher in my 14th year teaching. I have taught in 2 schools (both Catholic high schools), in 4 grades (9-12), and in 9 different courses. I love learning about teaching, technology, schools, and productivity. I am currently a department chair and serve on a few committees at my school (technology committee, charism committee, and curriculum council).

My educational background has taken me to Portland, OR, Providence, RI and Seattle, WA earning degrees in Theology, Education, and Educational Leadership. For my Masters’ degree, I participated in a post-grad service program where I taught in Massachusetts and lived in community with people doing the same program. It was such a supportive and fun way to begin teaching. As part of my most recent degree, I wrote a dissertation about the instructional practices of high school Religion teachers in Washington State. It was an incredibly fun, and challenging, project to research the best instructional practices for religion teachers. It helped me to grow as a researcher and teacher in many ways.

I live in Seattle with my husband and our two kids, ages 5 and 2.5. They are awesome.

I love diet coke, red wine, podcasts, inspirational non-fiction, smoothies, organizing things, talking, checklists, and traveling. I’m an ENFJ, an 3 wing 2, and an obliger.
